Gaggle of ‘Housewives’ go full ’80s during Miami beach day for ‘Ultimate Road Trip’

The cast of “The Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip” brought a blast from the past to Miami Beach this week, donning full ’80s aerobic outfits for a lively beach day filmed as part of the new spinoff series. This cross-country stop, captured on Monday, features beloved franchise stars engaging in retro-themed games and relay races, highlighting the celebratory nature of the show which marks the 20th anniversary of the Real Housewives franchise.

In photos obtained by Page Six, the core cast—including Teresa Giudice, Porsha Williams, Luann de Lesseps, Kyle Richards, Vicki Gunvalson, Gizelle Bryant, and Lisa Barlow—was seen participating in several relay races on the sandy shores. They were joined by “Real Housewives of Miami” stars Marysol Patton and Alexia Nepola, all embracing the neon aesthetic with high-cut bodysuits, matching workout sets, leg warmers, wristbands, and visors that screamed 1980s fitness fashion.

The housewives split into four teams for a series of competition games, such as wig snatching and drink tray carrying, adding a playful competitive edge to the day. Each team was given a name inspired by an iconic quote from different Housewives franchises, including “The Prostitution Whores,” “The Woohooers,” “The S–t Pigs,” and “The Green Eyed Monster,” injecting humor and nostalgia into the activities.

This beach day is a key segment for “The Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip,” a road trip-style installment of “Ultimate Girls Trip” announced by Andy Cohen at BravoCon 2025. Cohen revealed that filming began in early 2026 and teased that the spinoff would be extra special as it commemorates two decades of the Real Housewives series, with plans to traverse the country and visit memorable locations in Bravo history.

The series aims to follow franchise stars as they journey across the United States, stopping at iconic spots tied to Bravo lore, offering fans a nostalgic tour. In a twist, Page Six exclusively reported last month that NeNe Leakes, an original “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, was in talks to join the show after her dramatic exit and lawsuit against the network.

Leakes confirmed her participation earlier this month, expressing joy in an Instagram video about returning to Bravo. Andy Cohen supported this, noting on his radio show that her appearance during the Atlanta stop was essential for celebrating the franchise’s anniversary, as it would be incomplete without her. The Atlanta event was filmed before the Miami beach day, ensuring Leakes’ inclusion in the cross-country narrative.

With the show set to premiere soon, it promises to blend reality TV drama with celebratory milestones, potentially drawing in both longtime fans and new viewers. The Miami beach day, with its ’80s theme and team competitions, sets a fun and engaging tone for what’s to come in this anniversary special.

The inclusion of multiple housewives from various franchises underscores the collaborative spirit of the spinoff, aiming to unite fan favorites in a unique travel format. As filming continues, audiences can anticipate more behind-the-scenes glimpses and promotional content leading up to the release.
