Matt Kalil has ‘zero chance’ of winning lawsuit against ex-wife Haley: experts

Legal experts have asserted that former NFL player Matt Kalil stands little to no chance of prevailing in his lawsuit against ex-wife Haley Baylee over her public disclosures about their sex life. The analysis emerged following Kalil’s legal filing, which seeks damages for invasion of privacy and unjust enrichment after Baylee discussed intimate details during a viral livestream.

Matt Kalil, a retired offensive lineman who played for the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers, initiated the lawsuit after Haley Baylee, a model and social media influencer, described his penis size as a factor in their divorce during a November 2025 Twitch stream. In the interview, Baylee claimed that Kalil’s anatomy, which she likened to ‘two Coke cans stacked on top of each other, maybe even a third,’ made intimacy impossible, leading to the end of their marriage in 2022. Kalil alleges that these comments have subjected him and his family to unwanted public scrutiny and emotional distress.

According to Los Angeles-based attorney Gregory Doll, who spoke exclusively to Page Six, the lawsuit has ‘zero chance’ of ever going to trial. Doll explained that while Kalil may meet some elements of an invasion of privacy claim, both parties are considered public figures, raising significant First Amendment barriers. ‘She’s hardly the first celebrity to do it, and there’s no bright-line rule that says that the subject matter is off limits,’ Doll stated, referencing Baylee’s right to discuss their relationship publicly.

Doll further addressed the unjust enrichment claim, noting that a judge would need to determine if Baylee monetized the story improperly. He pointed out that Baylee has over 30 million followers across social media platforms and has gained recognition as a content creator. Ironically, Doll suggested that the lawsuit itself might boost her visibility, potentially doubling or tripling her follower count, rather than securing compensation for Kalil.

Beverly Hills defense attorney Adam Michael Sacks echoed Doll’s assessment, emphasizing that Kalil’s retirement from the NFL does not negate his public figure status. ‘It doesn’t sound like he has much of a case. He’s a public figure, and the fact that he retired doesn’t make him not a public figure anymore,’ Sacks said. He concluded that the case is unlikely to progress far in the legal system, predicting it will be dismissed or settled out of court.

Kalil’s lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, demands $75,000 in damages for the ‘severe emotional distress, humiliation, reputational damage and mental anguish’ he claims to have suffered. The court documents, obtained by Page Six, allege that Baylee’s ‘degrading and deeply personal comments’ were made for entertainment and financial gain, violating Kalil’s reasonable expectation of privacy. Additionally, Kalil asserts that his current wife, Keilani Asmus, has received ‘disturbing’ and ‘alarming’ messages as a result of the public fallout.

In response to the lawsuit, Baylee expressed shock and hurt, telling Page Six that she is ‘genuinely shocked and incredibly hurt’ by the filing. She maintained that her original livestream included positive remarks about Kalil and that litigation is an emotionally draining experience she hoped to avoid. Kalil’s lawyer, Ryan Saba, countered that Baylee disclosed private details with no legitimate public concern, causing substantial harm to Kalil and his family.

The case underscores ongoing debates about privacy boundaries and free speech in the digital era, particularly for public figures. With legal experts uniformly skeptical of its merits, the lawsuit is expected to face swift dismissal or a settlement, leaving Kalil with little legal recourse despite his personal grievances. As social media continues to blur the lines between public and private life, this incident serves as a cautionary tale for celebrities navigating personal disclosures in the public eye.
