Pete Davidson shows off tattoo removal journey in shirtless photo with newborn daughter

Comedian Pete Davidson is drawing attention with a recent shirtless photo that highlights both his newborn daughter and his ongoing tattoo removal journey. The image, shared by his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt on Instagram this Sunday, shows Davidson cradling infant Scottie, with his once-prominent tattoos now visibly faded.

The photo, posted on December 21, captures a tender moment of skin-to-skin contact, a practice known to foster bonding and regulate a baby’s temperature. Davidson, 32, held his daughter close, her face nestled against his chest, while swaddled in a blanket. Hewitt captioned the post “MY BEST FRIENDS,” expressing her love for the new family dynamic. This visual update comes just over a week after the couple welcomed Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson on December 12.

Scottie’s name is a heartfelt tribute to Davidson’s father, Scott, who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Hewitt announced the birth on social media, writing, “My best work yet, i am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief.” Davidson added his own touch with a “wu tang forever” comment, referencing his fondness for the hip-hop group. The baby marks the first child for both Davidson and Hewitt, who have been dating since March 2025.

Davidson’s tattoo removal process has been a public topic for years. He began the intensive treatment in 2020, aiming to erase most of his approximately 200 tattoos. On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” he described the procedure: “They burn off a layer of your skin, then it has to heal for six to eight weeks. You can’t get in the sunlight, and then you’ve got to do it, like, 12 more times.” The comedian has emphasized that the pain and cost are worthwhile for his personal growth.

Despite removing many tattoos, Davidson plans to retain a few, including one of Hillary Clinton on his leg. He revealed that Clinton herself reached out to ensure he wasn’t removing her likeness, to which he assured her, “Hillary stays.” This anecdote underscores the personal significance of some ink, even as he moves away from his heavily tattooed past. Davidson has cited a desire for a “clean slate” and not wanting his future children to get tattoos as motivations.

The journey is part of Davidson’s broader focus on mental health and self-improvement. In an interview with Us Weekly, he shared, “I’ve been working on myself personally and my mental health, and I think it’s showing.” He acknowledged that the removal process is a “long game” but feels positive about the changes. His arms are now almost fully clear, allowing him to wear T-shirts without the ink that once defined his public image.

As new parents, Davidson and Hewitt are adjusting to life with Scottie. A source told Us Weekly, “They are obsessed with their baby girl and over the moon. Pete is ecstatic to officially be a dad and has had a smile on his face since she was born.” This period marks a significant personal milestone for Davidson, who has often been in the spotlight for his relationships and career.

Moving forward, fans can expect Davidson to continue sharing glimpses of his fatherhood and tattoo removal progress. His openness about these personal evolutions resonates with many, highlighting themes of growth and renewal. As he balances comedy with family life, Davidson’s story serves as a reminder of the transformative power of personal choices and the joy of new beginnings.
