Eric McCormack’s Ex Janet Leigh Holden to Receive ‘Will & Grace’ Residuals and $10K Monthly in Divorce Settlement

Actor Eric McCormack’s divorce settlement with ex-wife Janet Leigh Holden was finalized on January 6, 2026, requiring him to pay $10,000 monthly in spousal support until 2035 and share residuals from projects including ‘Will & Grace.’ The judge-signed agreement stems from their 26-year marriage, which ended in separation in February 2024.

The spousal support is set at a ‘non-modifiable’ $10,000 per month, based on Holden’s average income of $23,000 compared to McCormack’s $92,000 monthly. This amount cannot be altered until 2035, when McCormack can seek modification, ensuring financial stability for Holden over the next decade.

Community property works from McCormack’s career during the marriage are equally split, entitling Holden to half of all residuals and royalties. Key projects include ‘Will & Grace,’ ‘Lego Masters,’ ‘Murdoch Mysteries,’ and various podcasts and TV series. She also receives one-half interest in the intellectual property of these works.

Physical assets were divided with Holden keeping a Los Angeles home, two condos, and exclusive use of a Vancouver home for five years. McCormack retains a beach house, and both split bank accounts, investments, airline miles, and retirement plans, reflecting a comprehensive asset division.

Their son, Finnigan Holden McCormack, 23, has his expenses and costs for establishing a trust shared by both parents. Although there are no minor children, the agreement ensures continued financial support for their adult son, highlighting ongoing parental responsibilities.

McCormack and Holden met in 1994 on the set of ‘Lonesome Dove’ and married in August 1997. After 26 years, Holden filed for divorce in November 2023, citing irreconcilable differences, leading to a separation date of February 12, 2024.

The divorce was settled uncontested, with both parties waiving rights to trial and appeal. McCormack filed for dissolution in November 2025, and the terms were formalized in the recent agreement, showcasing an amicable resolution out of court.

This settlement underscores the financial complexities in celebrity divorces, particularly with enduring royalties from hit shows. It may influence future cases involving spousal support and asset division in the entertainment industry, setting a benchmark for long-term marital settlements.
