Brittany Cartwright details new co-parenting struggles with Jax Taylor amid divorce

Brittany Cartwright has detailed new co-parenting challenges with ex-husband Jax Taylor as the holidays approach, revealing their plans for their son Cruz during an exclusive interview at BravoCon 2025. She emphasized the importance of family traditions and expressed a desire to finalize their divorce by year’s end.

Cartwright, 36, explained that she typically spends Christmas with her large family in Kentucky, where multiple relatives live on a farm as next-door neighbors. She stated, “I always have Christmas,” and noted that Taylor, 46, will have “his own” Christmas with Cruz. The reality star highlighted the significance of Cruz experiencing love from his cousins and extended family, saying, “That’s so important for me, and I don’t ever want him to miss that.”

The former couple is navigating these arrangements amid ongoing divorce proceedings, with Cartwright admitting that “a lot has changed right now.” She confessed that having the divorce finalized would be “the best Christmas gift,” indicating her hope for closure by the end of 2025. This comes after she filed for divorce in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences.

Taylor’s absence from the Bravo reality show “The Valley” has also impacted their dynamic. Cartwright revealed that filming without him was “a lot less stressful,” following his decision to step away in July 2024 to focus on his sobriety, mental health, and co-parenting relationship. This move was part of a broader effort to improve their post-separation interactions.

Cartwright and Taylor’s relationship began in Las Vegas in 2015, leading to her move to Los Angeles and appearances on “Vanderpump Rules.” They married in 2019 after a rocky courtship and welcomed son Cruz in April 2021. However, by February 2024, Cartwright announced their separation, citing a “particularly rough year” and her need to prioritize her mental health and motherhood.

At the time of the separation, Taylor initially insisted they were still together and not divorcing, emphasizing the need to “do what’s best for our kid.” Shortly after, in July 2024, he entered a mental health facility, and Cartwright filed for divorce the following month. Their co-parenting journey has been publicly documented, with both sharing updates on their struggles and efforts.

Recently, Cartwright was linked to Brandon Hanson, with whom she vacationed in August 2025, but they split in October. As they head into the holidays, the focus remains on providing a stable environment for Cruz, with Cartwright committed to ensuring he feels loved and supported by both families.
