Yellowstone’ star Cole Hauser says wild ‘old women’ fans can’t keep their hands off him

Yellowstone actor Cole Hauser revealed that he has faced inappropriate physical contact from older female fans, who often grab his butt, especially after consuming alcohol, during a bourbon tasting event in Texas. While most fans are respectful, some interactions cross boundaries when alcohol is involved.

Hauser, who portrays Rip Wheeler on the popular series Yellowstone, made these comments exclusively to Page Six at a tasting for his Lazy K Bar Straight Bourbon Whiskey in Arlington, Texas, on August 24, 2025. He described the encounters as “a little bit strange” and specifically noted, “I’ve had some old women grab my ass,” highlighting the unexpected nature of these fan interactions.

The 50-year-old actor emphasized that the vast majority of his fans are very respectful and appreciative, but the problematic behavior tends to occur predominantly among older women who have had a few drinks, leading to increased aggression. This insight came as part of a broader discussion about his experiences with heightened fame following the success of Yellowstone, which has garnered a massive and dedicated fanbase.

Currently, Hauser is actively involved in filming an unnamed spinoff of Yellowstone in North Texas. The new series will feature his on-screen wife Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, and has recently added Oscar-nominated actress Annette Bening to the cast, expanding the narrative universe of the original show.

Reflecting on his role, Hauser highlighted the deep connection, loyalty, and honor that his character shares with Beth, qualities he also values in his real-life relationship with Reilly. He praised her as an amazing woman and a talented actress, noting their strong off-screen friendship and creative collaboration that has enriched their on-screen dynamics.

Beyond acting, Hauser is expanding his entrepreneurial efforts with his bourbon brand, Lazy K Bar, which has now launched in Texas after initially being available only in Montana. He distinguishes his product from other celebrity-backed alcohols by emphasizing its genuine family history and his personal, hands-on involvement in crafting the bourbon to ensure high quality.

Hauser explained that he spent significant time working closely with the bourbon maker to finesse the product, unlike some celebrities who merely attach their name to a brand without historical ties or substantive effort. This approach reflects his commitment to authenticity and quality in his ventures outside of acting.

These revelations underscore the complexities of celebrity life, where admiration from fans can sometimes lead to uncomfortable situations, balancing gratitude for support with the need for personal boundaries. As Hauser continues with the Yellowstone spinoff and his business pursuits, these experiences highlight the unpredictable aspects of fame in the entertainment industry.
