Walmart Employee Beaten in Checkout Brawl Over Allegations

A violent altercation at an Indianapolis Walmart resulted in an employee being brutally beaten by a group of women, captured in a viral video filmed on Friday. On Friday afternoon, at a Walmart in north Indianapolis, a checkout aisle brawl erupted when a group of women attacked employee Tikerra Hicks. Witness Kind Butler filmed the incident and posted it to Facebook, where it quickly went viral, showing the brutal nature of the assault. In the video, Hicks is seen being held down by a woman in black while two others, including one in a pink shirt, punch and stomp on her. A male suspect in a black hoodie also joins in, kicking her before being pulled away by store staff. Shouts of “Where’s he at, bitch?” are heard, indicating the attack may be related to a search for someone involved in an alleged rape. According to reports, the attackers were family members of an alleged rape victim, seeking someone they believed was connected to the assault. Hicks stated that she had been receiving calls about a friend allegedly raping another acquaintance, but she denies any involvement and was puzzled why she was targeted, as she was not present during the alleged incident. Co-workers and bystanders intervened to break up the fight, eventually pulling Hicks to safety. She reported being suspended from Walmart following the incident, while the store condemned the violence and appreciated the police’s quick response in a statement. A Beech Grove police report for a rape investigation names Hicks as an “other person,” but she insists the allegations are false and has not spoken to officers beyond the fight. As of Sunday, no arrests had been made, and the investigation is ongoing, with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department yet to comment. The viral video has drawn attention to issues of workplace safety and mob violence, highlighting the risks faced by retail workers.
