Matthew Perry Death: ‘Ketamine Queen’ Finally Agrees To Guilty Plea, Faces Decades In Prison

Jasveen Sangha, known as the ‘Ketamine Queen,’ has agreed to plead guilty for supplying the ketamine that caused Matthew Perry’s 2023 death, becoming the final defendant to admit guilt in the case. The plea deal announced on August 18, 2025, could result in decades of prison time for her role in the distribution chain that led to the ‘Friends’ star’s fatal overdose.

Sangha admitted to three counts of ketamine distribution and one count of providing drugs resulting in death. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she faces up to 20 years for maintaining drug-involved premises, 10 years per distribution count, and 15 years for the charge directly linked to Perry’s death. Her formal plea hearing is scheduled for early fall 2025.

The 2023 incident occurred at Perry’s Pacific Palisades home where the actor was found unresponsive in his hot tub. Sangha specifically supplied 51 vials of ketamine to Perry through intermediary Erik Fleming, who delivered the drugs via the actor’s personal assistant Kenneth Iwamasa. Court documents reveal Sangha attempted to cover her tracks after Perry’s death by instructing Fleming to ‘delete all our messages’ via Signal.

Medical examiners concluded Perry died from ‘acute effects of ketamine’ with contributing factors including drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine (an opioid treatment drug). The 54-year-old actor had publicly documented his struggles with addiction throughout his career, making the circumstances of his death particularly tragic for fans worldwide.

This development concludes the criminal investigation that began with five defendants. Previously, Fleming, Iwamasa, and doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez pleaded guilty. All defendants will face sentencing within the next three months, bringing closure to the legal proceedings nearly two years after Perry’s October 2023 death.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about illegal drug distribution to high-profile individuals and addiction treatment vulnerabilities. Perry’s legacy as Chandler Bing on NBC’s ‘Friends’ (1994-2004) made him a beloved figure, with his death prompting global mourning. His post-‘Friends’ career included acclaimed roles in ‘The West Wing’ and ‘The Good Wife’.

Legal experts note the plea deal avoids a complex trial while ensuring accountability. Sentencing will determine the final consequences for all involved, with Sangha facing the harshest penalties due to her direct role in supplying the fatal dose. The outcome may influence future celebrity drug-related cases and enforcement approaches to underground pharmaceutical networks.

Perry’s family and colleagues have maintained privacy throughout the proceedings. As sentencing approaches, renewed attention focuses on addiction awareness and Perry’s entertainment legacy, with memorial tributes expected on the upcoming second anniversary of his death.
