How Taylor Swift is handling Blake Lively legal battle as private texts are released

Taylor Swift is reportedly remaining unbothered and focused on her personal life as private text messages between her and Blake Lively have been released amid Lively’s ongoing legal battle with actor-director Justin Baldoni.

Blake Lively has filed a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director in the film “It Ends With Us.” As part of the court proceedings, private text exchanges between Lively and Swift have been made public, offering a glimpse into their close friendship and its intersection with the film’s production dynamics. The messages reveal Lively seeking Swift’s help in persuading Baldoni to accept her script revisions, with Swift enthusiastically agreeing and providing support during key meetings.

In one instance from April 2023, Lively sent Swift a copy of her revised script while Baldoni was present for a pre-production meeting. Swift responded with “I’ll do anything for you!!” and later praised the script in person, which Lively described as “epically heroic.” Their texts are filled with affectionate banter, highlighting a deep bond where Lively referred to Swift as one of her “dragons” and Swift expressed feeling like she “won the lottery” by having Lively as a friend.

However, the correspondence also indicates recent strains in their relationship. In early December 2024, Lively reached out to Swift, concerned that their friendship had suffered due to her preoccupation with the legal dispute. Swift acknowledged a “little bit of a shift” in their communication, noting that Lively’s messages felt impersonal, like “a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees.” She emphasized missing their former closeness but assured Lively that she understood the all-consuming nature of such battles.

On the legal front, Baldoni has denied all allegations and accused Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of attempting to intimidate him out of creative control over the film. He filed a countersuit for defamation and extortion in January 2025, which was subsequently dismissed. Baldoni’s legal team argues that the texts demonstrate Lively leveraging Swift’s celebrity influence to sway both production decisions and public perception.

Swift’s representatives have consistently denied any involvement in the case or the film. Insiders report that Swift is unfazed by the legal drama, viewing it as unrelated to her, and is instead immersed in planning her wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce, scheduled for this summer. Her focus remains on her personal life, friends, and family, despite the unwelcome publicity from the released texts.

The case is set for trial in May, where the released texts are expected to play a central role as evidence. The proceedings may illuminate how personal relationships intersect with legal disputes in Hollywood, potentially influencing future use of private communications in court. As both sides prepare for the courtroom, the once-inseparable friendship between Swift and Lively appears strained, with the outcome likely to have broader implications for celebrity interactions and legal strategies in the entertainment industry.
