The fire broke out at Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana during a crowded celebration, rapidly engulfing the basement party room. Initial investigations suggest that sparklers attached to champagne bottles were held too close to the ceiling, igniting sound-insulating foam. The blaze caused panic and chaos, with many patrons suffering severe burns as they tried to escape.
