‘Ned’s Declassified’ Tylor Chase Former Costar Hooks Up Homeless Pal W/ Motel Room

Daniel Curtis Lee, a former costar on ‘Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide,’ has provided temporary shelter for Tylor Chase, who is experiencing homelessness, by checking him into a motel room in Riverside, California. This act is part of broader efforts by Chase’s former colleagues to offer support during the holiday season, amid concerns over his well-being and a looming rainstorm.

On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, Lee drove about 50 miles from Los Angeles to Riverside to meet with Chase. After catching up over pizza, Lee helped him settle into a motel, sharing an emotional video on social media to highlight the encounter. Lee stated that his immediate goal was to ensure Chase had a safe place to stay dry as Southern California faced significant rainfall. He emphasized that this was a temporary measure to provide basic comfort during the holidays.

Chase’s situation gained public attention after videos of him living on the streets went viral, prompting outreach from fans and former costars. Lee stepped in after seeing these videos, motivated by a desire to offer immediate relief. He explained that he wanted to keep Chase safe and supported, even if only for a short period, and plans to maintain contact to assist with long-term needs.

Lee is collaborating with other ‘Ned’s Declassified’ alumni, including Devon Werkheiser and Lindsey Shaw, to develop a sustainable plan for Chase’s recovery. They are exploring options such as setting up a trust fund for donations and identifying appropriate rehabilitation programs. However, communication with Chase has been sporadic due to his inconsistent access to a phone, adding complexity to their efforts.

Additional support has come from Shaun Weiss, a former ‘Mighty Ducks’ star who has openly discussed his own past struggles with addiction and homelessness. Weiss arranged a bed at a detox facility and encouraged Chase to accept treatment, but Chase has been reluctant to engage with hospital or treatment center options. This hesitation reflects broader challenges in assisting individuals facing addiction and mental health issues.

Chase, now 36, played Martin Qwerly on ‘Ned’s Declassified’ from 2004 to 2007, and his post-career struggles have concerned the Nickelodeon community. His former costars have addressed his situation on their podcast, expressing heartbreak over his difficulties but remaining hopeful that increased attention will lead to meaningful support. They acknowledge the difficulties of helping someone who may not initially want assistance.

Looking ahead, Lee and others intend to stay connected with Chase, offering both emotional backing and practical aid. The story has sparked conversations about the vulnerabilities of former child stars and the importance of community intervention in crises. While immediate efforts focus on safety, the long-term aim is for Chase to embrace available resources and work towards a stable, healthier future.
