Smokey Robinson New Sexual Battery Claim From a Male Accuser

Motown legend Smokey Robinson is facing a new sexual battery allegation from a male accuser who claims Robinson attempted to force his hand onto his erect penis, adding to a series of lawsuits against the singer. The accuser, identified as John Doe in legal documents, alleges that Robinson engaged in repeated sexual harassment and indecent exposure during his employment, with the most severe incident occurring around 2022.

John Doe began working for the Robinsons at their Chatsworth, California residence around 2013, primarily detailing cars in the early mornings. He claims that on numerous occasions, Robinson would appear outside wearing only his underwear and fondle his erect penis in plain view. The accuser states that Robinson made sexually suggestive gestures and remarks, including beckoning him toward a nearby room, which he consistently rejected by telling Robinson to “put some clothes on.”

The situation escalated in 2022 when Robinson allegedly grabbed John Doe’s hand without consent and tried to force it onto his erect penis. Following this incident, the Robinsons fired him, but he was rehired about a year later at the request of Robinson’s wife, Frances. Upon returning, the accuser says Robinson resumed the same behavior, appearing partially clothed and making suggestive remarks, leading to continued emotional distress.

This new claim is part of a broader legal battle, as Robinson is already being sued by four Jane Does—former housekeepers—who accuse him of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, and gender violence. The male accuser and an additional female accuser (a fifth Jane Doe) are seeking to join this existing lawsuit, which was initially filed in May 2025 and seeks significant damages. The allegations span several years, with the plaintiffs describing a pattern of misconduct.

Robinson’s attorney, Christopher Frost, has vehemently denied all accusations, characterizing them as part of a coordinated “shakedown” and “avaricious campaign” to extort money from the 85-year-old musician. In responses to TMZ, Frost asserted that the accusers are conspiring against the Robinsons and have refused to provide essential evidence or disclose their identities, hindering the investigation. The Robinsons have filed a $500 million countersuit for defamation, civil conspiracy, and elder abuse.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is conducting a criminal investigation into the earlier allegations, though no charges have been filed to date. The case has drawn widespread media attention due to Robinson’s iconic status in the music industry, where he is celebrated for hits like “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me” and his contributions to Motown. Legal experts note that the addition of a male accuser could influence public perception and the legal proceedings.

As the lawsuit progresses, the court is expected to rule on motions regarding the anonymity of the accusers and the admissibility of evidence. The outcome may set precedents for how celebrity sexual misconduct cases are handled, particularly with multiple accusers coming forward. Robinson and his legal team continue to maintain his innocence, while the plaintiffs seek justice for what they describe as years of abuse.

The case highlights ongoing issues of power dynamics and accountability in the entertainment industry, echoing broader societal conversations around sexual misconduct. With the criminal investigation ongoing and civil suits unfolding, the legal and reputational implications for Robinson remain significant, and further developments are anticipated in the coming months.
