Christina Ricci claims Megyn Kelly is a ‘danger to children’ for downplaying Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes

Actress Christina Ricci has publicly condemned media personality Megyn Kelly for comments that downplayed the severity of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, labeling Kelly a “danger to children” in a social media post. The criticism came in response to Kelly’s recent podcast episode where she discussed Epstein’s victims.

Ricci took to her Instagram Stories on November 14, 2025, to share posts that highlighted Kelly’s controversial remarks. She reposted a slide stating, “There’s definitely a difference between a 5-year-old and a 15-year-old. But that difference is not ‘whether or not sleeping with them makes you a pedophile.'” Another slide featured quotes from Kelly’s interview with journalist Batya Ungar-Sargon on her eponymous podcast, which covered the House Oversight Committee’s release of Epstein emails.

On the podcast, Kelly argued that Epstein was not a pedophile, citing a source close to the case. She said, “I know somebody very close to this case. Jeffrey Epstein, in this person’s view, was not a pedophile. He wasn’t into 8-year-olds, but he liked the very young teen types.” Kelly emphasized that she was not making excuses but presenting facts, and described the topic as “disgusting.”

Kelly elaborated that Epstein preferred “very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby.” She claimed to have been “reliably told” this about the disgraced financier for many years, until Attorney General Pam Bondi’s comments earlier this year about the FBI reviewing “tens of thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child porn” made her reconsider. However, Kelly expressed doubt about Bondi’s claims, saying she doesn’t “really trust Pam Bondi’s word on the Epstein matters anymore.”

The comments sparked immediate backlash on social media platform X, with users condemning Kelly for minimizing sexual abuse. One user wrote, “I want Megyn Kelly to say this to a 15-year-old victim’s face. I want her to look that child in the eye and say it’s less bad.” Another commented, “A 15-year-old is still a child. Period. There are no exceptions. This is horrifying,” reflecting widespread outrage.

Ricci’s response was swift and direct, writing on her Instagram Story, “This woman is a danger to children.” This aligns with her past advocacy; earlier this year, she shared a personal story on Jimmy Kimmel Live! about receiving an inappropriate photo from a man when she was 11, underscoring her commitment to child safety and adding depth to her criticism.

Jeffrey Epstein was charged with sex trafficking of minors in July 2019, with federal prosecutors alleging victims were as young as 14 years old. He died by suicide in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial. The recent release of emails has renewed public scrutiny of the case, fueling discussions about accountability and the handling of such sensitive topics in media.

Kelly’s remarks have drawn widespread criticism and add to her history of controversial statements. The incident may fuel ongoing debates about media responsibility and the portrayal of sexual exploitation cases, potentially affecting Kelly’s public standing and prompting further discussion on the ethical boundaries of public commentary.
