David Foster & Yolanda Hadid Former Malibu Mansion Site Hits Market for $11M

The oceanfront Malibu property once owned by David Foster and Yolanda Hadid, which gained fame on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and was destroyed in a wildfire, has been listed for $11 million as a vacant lot, presenting a unique redevelopment opportunity. This listing comes just over a year after the devastating Palisades Fire ravaged the area, reducing the iconic mansion to rubble.

The 3.25-acre lot, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, is on the market for just under $12 million, as confirmed by TMZ. Daniel Milstein, in partnership with Aaron Kirman of Christie’s International Real Estate, is handling the sale and emphasized the rarity of such a listing in prime Malibu real estate. He stated that thanks to Bowery Design Group’s conceptual renderings, there is a clear vision for what the property could become, making it an attractive prospect for buyers.

Foster and Hadid acquired the home in 2007 for $4.5 million and extensively renovated it into a European-style villa, where their children, including models Gigi and Bella Hadid, grew up. The property became a staple on reality television, featured prominently in episodes of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” which added to its celebrity allure. Its destruction in the 2024 wildfires was a significant loss, emotionally impacting the Hadid family, as evidenced by Bella’s social media posts showing the blaze.

Bowery Design Group’s proposed plans outline a 14,000-square-foot gated compound with six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and 14-foot ceilings, designed to capture 270-degree ocean views. The renderings imagine a luxurious retreat that blends indoor and outdoor living, aiming to create a sanctuary that maximizes the site’s natural beauty and exclusive location.

Amenities in the conceptual design include a home theater, spa, gym, and game room, along with nearly 4,000 square feet of outdoor space featuring three pools, a bocce court, and a full sports court. These elements are tailored for high-end entertainment and relaxation, appealing to potential buyers seeking a custom-built dream home. Additionally, the property offers access to the La Costa Beach Club and is close to Malibu’s popular venues like Nobu and Soho House, enhancing its value.

Yolanda Hadid has moved on from the Malibu property, listing her Pennsylvania farm earlier this year and establishing a new residence in Fort Worth, Texas, while David Foster continues to live in Los Angeles. Their divergent post-divorce lives underscore the property’s history as a shared family home that has now entered a new chapter. The listing signals a transition from past memories to future possibilities in the competitive Malibu real estate market.

With the conceptual designs pre-approved, the next owner can expedite the rebuilding process, turning the site’s tragic history into an opportunity for innovation and luxury. This sale not only closes a poignant chapter but also opens the door for a new iconic residence to rise from the ashes, potentially setting a benchmark for post-fire redevelopment in the area.
