Virginia Giuffre accuses ‘entitled’ Prince Andrew in posthumous book

Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, ‘Nobody’s Girl,’ accuses Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, depicting him as ‘entitled’ and detailing encounters orchestrated by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The book’s release has reignited scrutiny over the royal family and the Epstein scandal, drawing from Giuffre’s firsthand account published nearly six months after her suicide.

In extracts released this week, Giuffre describes Prince Andrew as believing that ‘having sex with me was his birthright,’ emphasizing the power imbalance in their interactions. She recounts their first meeting in London in March 2001, when she was 17, introduced by Maxwell as a chance to meet ‘a handsome prince.’ Andrew correctly guessed her age and referenced his daughters, which Giuffre found unsettling, setting the tone for an evening that included dinner and a visit to Tramp nightclub, where she noted his awkward dancing and profuse sweating.

The memoir provides vivid details of the infamous photograph taken that evening, with Giuffre explaining she insisted on capturing the moment to show her mother. Epstein snapped the picture while Andrew had his arm around her waist, and Maxwell grinned beside them—a image that has become central to legal disputes. After returning from the club, Maxwell allegedly instructed Giuffre to ‘do for him what you do for Jeffrey,’ leading to sexual contact that Giuffre characterizes as transactional and demeaning, with Andrew appearing dismissive and entitled throughout.

Giuffre’s recruitment into Epstein’s circle began at age 16 while working at Mar-a-Lago, where Maxwell approached her with an offer for a massage therapist role that quickly devolved into exploitation. She describes how Epstein and Maxwell manipulated her vulnerable background, using threats and gifts to maintain control, and how she relied on drugs like Xanax—sometimes taking up to eight pills a day—to cope with the abuse. This pattern of grooming and coercion is detailed as part of a broader system targeting marginalized girls.

The book also covers two other alleged encounters with Prince Andrew: in Epstein’s New York townhouse and on his private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Giuffre claims Epstein paid her $15,000 after the London incident, reinforcing the commercial nature of the abuse. These accounts, while previously outlined in legal documents, are now presented in her narrative voice, offering new insights into the psychological impact and the complicity of those in Epstein’s orbit, whom she accuses of willful ignorance.

Prince Andrew has consistently denied all allegations, stating in a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview that he ‘categorically’ never had sexual contact with Giuffre and does not recall meeting her. In 2022, he reached an out-of-court financial settlement with her without admitting wrongdoing, but email evidence has since emerged suggesting he maintained ties with Epstein beyond his claimed cutoff date, undermining his credibility and fueling public skepticism.

The memoir’s release intensifies pressure on the British monarchy, as King Charles grapples with how to address the scandals surrounding his brother. Giuffre’s testimony highlights ongoing concerns about accountability for powerful figures and the treatment of abuse survivors, resonating with broader movements for justice. Her co-author, Amy Wallace, helps frame the story as a call to action, urging society to confront systemic failures in protecting the vulnerable.

As ‘Nobody’s Girl’ reaches readers, it is poised to influence legal discussions and public opinion, potentially prompting further investigations or reforms. Giuffre’s posthumous voice serves as a powerful legacy, advocating for survivors and challenging impunity, while reminding audiences of the human cost behind high-profile cases like the Epstein scandal.
