Virginia Giuffre’s sister-in-law urges King Charles to use his influence to push global leaders to act on Epstein scandal

The family of Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre is pressing King Charles III to use his royal stature to compel global leaders toward greater accountability in the sprawling sex trafficking scandal, hailing his recent disavowal of Prince Andrew as a step forward but insisting much more must be done.

In a series of emotional interviews, Giuffre’s brother Sky Roberts and sister-in-law Amanda Roberts have articulated their demand for the British monarch to engage directly with survivors and push for a comprehensive investigation. Sky Roberts told CNN that he would readily meet with King Charles to discuss his sister’s ordeal and the need for transparency, emphasizing the importance of listening to victims rather than perpetrators. He described the King’s actions as a positive acknowledgment but called for expedited efforts to uncover the truth about Epstein’s inner circle.

The family’s appeals come in the wake of Buckingham Palace’s announcement that Prince Andrew would be stripped of his ‘prince’ title and required to vacate his home at Royal Lodge. Amanda Roberts, speaking to BBC Newsnight, commended King Charles for these actions but stressed that Andrew must face legal consequences, stating, ‘He needs to be behind bars,’ and calling for the same accountability for all abusers linked to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. She expressed frustration that Andrew remains a free man despite the serious allegations against him.

Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide in April 2025, had long accused Prince Andrew of sexually assaulting her three times when she was a teenager, allegations he has consistently denied. Her posthumous memoir, released this October, detailed these claims and described being ‘lent’ out to numerous powerful figures by Epstein and his associates, reigniting public outrage and scrutiny. The memoir also alleged encounters with other high-profile individuals, though many remain unidentified, adding to calls for a full disclosure of evidence.

King Charles’s decision to distance the monarchy from his brother reflects a significant shift, with the palace stating that their ‘utmost sympathies’ lie with abuse victims and survivors. However, the family believes this must be coupled with concrete steps, such as pressuring authorities to release any withheld evidence and ensuring Andrew is prosecuted if implicated. Sky Roberts suggested that British police likely possess information about other perpetrators that could shed light on the case, urging them not to protect those involved.

The Roberts family has declared a ‘victory’ in Andrew’s fall from grace but views it as incomplete without justice through the legal system. They have vowed to continue Giuffre’s fight, aiming to hold all complicit parties accountable, and have suggested that King Charles could influence other world leaders to address the scandal’s global dimensions. In a statement, they praised Giuffre as an ‘ordinary American girl’ whose courage brought down a prince, and they emphasized that her battle for accountability would persist through their efforts.

Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, will relocate to Sandringham House, a private royal property, but remains eighth in line to the throne. The family has criticized this arrangement, with Sky Roberts urging for his removal from the succession line, even if it requires parliamentary action, to symbolize a full break from the past. Additionally, they have called for Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to be stripped of her titles, arguing that comprehensive accountability is essential for healing and justice.

As the Epstein scandal continues to unfold, the Giuffre family’s calls highlight ongoing tensions between royal protocol and public demand for accountability. Their efforts underscore a broader movement for victim-centered justice, with implications for how institutions handle abuse allegations against powerful figures worldwide. The next steps may involve international cooperation, further investigations, and potential legal proceedings, as survivors and their families seek to ensure that no one is above the law.
